How To Display Setanta on Mac Full Screen Windows Media Player

If you subscribe to Setanta sports broadband and use a Mac then you will no doubt be frustrated by the display in windows Media Player. The problem is that Windows Media Player on the Mac has no right click - zoom capabilities.

According to Microsoft - Full-screen mode. Users cannot switch to a full-screen display from an embedded Player on a Macintosh computer. If you want users to be able to view your content in full-screen mode, provide a link from your Web page directly to an .asx file. This will cause the stand-alone Player to launch and start the playlist.

The solution is to find the url and paste it into the full version of Windows Media Player. Here are the steps;

1. load Windows Media Player from Applications folder
2. open Setanta in a Firefox browser and click on currently showing
3. right click on the yellow portion of the play menu, select view page info - media
4. look for the Type - Embed
5. right click on the Address and Copy
6. Back to Windows Media Player loaded in step 1, File - Open URL, then paste using ctrl-v into the URL field. Click Ok and that should do it.
7. Questions - Visit the About page and fill out the form
